Description

RODASOL CUARZO is a flooring based on Portland cement, hard aggregate of mineral origin, pigments and special admixtures that is applied over fresh concrete to improve their resistance to abrasion and inhibit dust formation.

Technical Data

• Type: Cementitious mortar improved with special admixtures.
• Density: 2 kg/dm3. pH: 12.
• High resistance to abrasion (5 times upper to a standar concrete).
• High mechanical resistance.
• Stable to UV rays.
• Impermeable to water, grease and oil due to its structure without dust.

Application procedure

Once the freshly poured concret has been levelled (2 or 3 hours after its poured) by means of a vibrating beam, as soon as the plasticity permits smooth the surface preferably by using a mechanical trowel, broadcast 2/3 of evenly by hand or with suitable device avoiding accumulation of material or areas without material.

Wait until the material has been moistured by the water in the concrete. Use a low rpm. mechanical trowel to introduce the material into the concrete. After 1 hour, broadcast the rest of the mix and repit with the mechanical trowel until the surface is totally flat. It is very important that the product has been moistured by the water in the concrete. It is not recommended to add extra water because the mechanical resistance could be reduced.

Once there is not moisture on the surface (around 12 hours), the floor must be protected by using curing compound PRECURING, to prevent early dry-out.

Tools cleaning: Tools are washed with water, immediately after use.

Special precautions

The technical characteristics of the concrete, (water / cement ratio, strength, type of cement, etc.), have a big influence over the last performance of the floor, so it is very important to use the indicated concrete for this application. In the final process it could appear changes of colours due to the variations of the concrete slab.

This product contains cement. Avoid contact with the eyes and the skin as well as inhalation. Use rubber gloves and goggles.

Keep out of children’s reach. Do not apply at ambient temperature lower than 5 ºC. Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

Average consumption: 3 kg to 5 kg/m2 depending on job requirement.

Packaging

RODASOL CUARZO is available in bags of 25 kg in gray, red and green color.

Storage

The components should be stored in their original, unopened packaging, in dry places and protected from the direct rays of the sun. Well kept, the product has a shelf life of at least 12 months.
