Copsafix EP 1
Two-component, styrene free epoxy-acrylate resin for high performance chemical anchoring
Documento sin título
Description
COPSAFIX EP 1 is a two-component epoxyacrylate resin for high performance chemical anchoring. It is packaged in cartridges, supplied with mixing nozzles, which enables
a fast and easy application. COPSAFIX EP 1 has been designed to minimize material waste. It is suitable for anchoring due to its high fluidity and high mechanical and chemical resistance.
Technical Data
- Type: Epoxy-acrylate resin.
- Colour: Comp. A: Beige. Comp. B: White.
- Density: 1.7 kg/dm3.
- Pot life: See table 1.
- Application temperature: 5-35 ºC*.
- Adhesion to concrete: > 16 kg/cm2 (concrete braks).
- Adhesion to steel: > 175 kg/cm2.
* For other temperatures, refer to our Technical Department.
Features
- Excellent adhesion on dry and wet substrates, both hollow and solid.
- High mechanical resistance.
- High chemical resistance.
- Non- shrinkage.
- Easy to handle.
- Styrene free.
- Non-flammable.
- Thixotropic, it can be used both on vertical and horizontal supports.
Application procedure
Anchor preparation: The support must be dry or slightly wet, free of dust, grease, paint and friable material. The dust left by the drilling should be cleaned by blowing or by air under
pressure.
Metal elements should be clean from oxides and grease. The site technicians are advised to check if there are hollows in the substrate since these can exhibit defects and installation
problems.
Cartridge preparation: Unscrew the exterior cap and screw the mixer. Place the cartridge into the application gun and check that the resin and the hardener outlet is correct. Do not use
the first few centimetres of the mixed resin. Do not alter or modify the mixer.
Application: In the case of hollow materials, the drilling machine must be provided with a perforated sleeve, leaving the cap open to insert the mixing nozzle. Insert the adhesive in 2/3 parts
of the hole, starting from the bottom. Close the sleeve cap and place the element to anchor rotating slightly. During the hardening time the anchor must not be loaded.
After the application, insert the safety cap and screw the exterior cap of the cartridge in order to preserve the material within. Never re-use the mixer rotating slightly. During the hardening time the anchor must not be loaded.
After the application, insert the safety cap and screw the exterior cap of the cartridge in order to preserve the material within. Never re-use the mixer.
Recommended for
- Concrete, rock, masonry, stone and wood anchoring.
- Fixing of plates or panels on facades.
- Fixing of corrugated reinforcing steel and threaded rods in tunnels, bridges, etc.
- Fixing of bolts, strips, hooks or supports for air conditioning, plumbing, electric installations, carpentry and hardware work.
- Railway fixing.
- Fixing in aggressive environment.
- Heavy weight structure installation.
- Fixing in humid and wet supports.
Special precautions
COPSAFIX EP 1 contains epoxy acrylate resins
which can irritate the skin. Therefore, basic safety precautions should be taken.
Use gloves and goggles during the application. Use in ventilated areas only.
In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with water and soap. In case of eye contact, wash thoroughly with water and see a doctor immediately.
Please, refer to our Technical Department for any questions you have.
Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.
Packaging
The product is available in 400 ml cartridges, in twelve- unit- boxes.
Storage
The components must be stored in their original packaging, unopened, in dry places and protected from the sunlight, at temperatures between 5 and 25 ºC. If the components A and B thicken due to a long storage or low temperatures, they can be made ready to use by heating in bain-marie.Its shelf life is 12 months from the date of production, provided it is well kept.
