Thixotropic epoxy adhesive for mortars and concrete

Description

PREPOXY ADHERENTE G2 is a two-component product formulated on the base of epoxy resins which provides an excellent bond for fresh concrete to hardened concrete, hardened concrete to hardened concrete and other materials to hardened concrete.

Due to its thixotropy, the product is easy to handle, mix and apply on any kind of surface, both horizontal and vertical. It can be used as a bond between irregular surfaces which need a levelling out mass.

  • Compression at 28 d: >600 kg/cm².
  • Flexural str. at 28 d: > 300 kg/cm².
• Bond strength to concrete at 25 ºC: >35 kg/cm² (concrete breaks).
• Bond strength to steel at 25 ºC: ~150 kg/cm².
• Elasticity modulus: 43,000 kg/cm².
• Layer maximum thickness: 30 mm.

Application procedure

Surface preparation: The support must be sound, free from grease, paint, friable material and excess water.

Mixture preparation: The components of PREPOXY ADHERENTE G2 are mixed by a low speed electric mixer to obtain a homogeneous paste of grey colour. Then the paste is applied over the substrate.

The adhesion of PREPOXY ADHERENTE G2 is achieved in 24 hours. However, its maximum resistance is achieved 7 days later. The product should not be applied at ambient temperatures lower than 8 ºC and higher than 30 ºC.

Tools cleaning: Tools and application equipment are washed with COPSA Solvent Cleaner immediately after use. If the product hardens, it can only be removed by mechanical means.

Special precautions

For special safety recommendations and first aid instructions, read carefully the packaging label.

Before hardening, the mix can cause skin irritation. Use rubber gloves and goggles. In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with water and soap.

Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

PREPOXY ADHERENTE G2 yield is approximately 1.9 kg/m²/per coat and 1mm thickness, depending on the surface texture.

PREPOXY ADHERENTE G2 is available in 1. 6 and 15 kg bags.

Storage

The shelf life of the product is at least 12 months from the production date, if kept in its unopened original packaging.
