High mechanical performance mortar for application on a broad range of thickness in rehabilitation and restoration

Description

PREREPAR S 200 T is a one-component, fast setting powder mortar, based on Portland cement resistant to sulfates, sand aggregates of analyzed grain size, polymers, fibers and admixtures. The product is suitable for structural repair of very thick concrete, due to its high adhesion to steel and concrete.

Application procedure

Substrate preparation: The application substrate must be sound, with irregularities not bigger than 3m (if adhesive is not used) and saturated with water for at least 6 hours before the application.

Deteriorated concrete or laitance must be eliminated by chisel, mechanical means, high pressure water, etc. (sand blasting is not always efficient enough to guarantee a sufficiently sound and rough surface) in order to obtain the necessary adhesion to the surface. The scarifying has to be enough to achieve a depth of repair of at least 1 cm.

Frameworks oxides must be eliminated, replacing them if necessary. Any water leakage on the surface to be treated must be eliminated by means of fast-setting mortar of the type PRERESEAL 75 PLUG. The surface must be cleaned from grease, oil stains, paint, mud or dust.

Framework placing: If the repair depth is higher than 20 mm, a rebar is fixed to the concrete and welded to it. Some space is left between them, ensuring the rebar placement by means of separators. If the thickness is smaller than 20 mm, a rebar placement is not necessary.

Mortar preparation: Mix the product with water at a rate of 4 liters per 25kg bag for 2-3 minutes, either by hand or mechanically.

The substrate must be saturated with water, clean and free from friable material.

Curing: Mortars with these characteristics must always be cured with water or with appropriate curing liquid to avoid the evaporation of the hydration water. However, even without applying this curing protection, PREREPAR S 200 T does not crack in normal conditions. This fact distinguishes it from those concretes which generally crack if not appropriately protected the first 24-48 hours.

If very high initial resistances are required at a very early age, the following instructions are recommendable:

• Store at a place protected from cold.
• Use hot water for the mixing.
• Start the application at midday.
• Once placed, the product must be protected against the cold covering it with a plastic cover.

Tools cleaning: Tools and application equipments are washed with water immediately after their use. If the product hardens, it can be removed by mechanical means only.

• Repair of concrete damaged by impacts.

Special precautions

This product contains cement. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin as well as inhalation of the powder. Use rubber gloves and goggles. Keep out of children‘s reach.

Do not apply the product at temperatures lower than 5 ºC.

Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

PREREPAR S 200 T yields 1.9 kg /m²/ mm thickness.

Packaging

PREREPAR S 200 T is supplied in 25 kg bags. It is possible to supply it in silos.

Storage

PREREPAR S 200 T must be stored in a dry place, protected from frost and direct sunlight, in its original unopened packaging. In adequate conditions, its shelf life is 12 months after the date of manufacturing.
