Prerepar S
High performance mortar for application in rehabilitation and restoration works
Documento sin título
Description
PREREPAR S is a one-component fast setting powder mortar, based on Portland cement resistant to sulfates, siliceous aggregates of analyzed grain size, polymers, fibers and admixtures. It is suitable for concrete structural repair due to its high adhesion to steel and concrete.

- High adhesion to the concrete substrate.
- Good workability. Non-bleeding.
- Adequate handling time.
- Non-shrinkage.
- High resistance.
- Can be pumped or projected.
Application procedure
Substrate preparation: The application substrate must be sound, with irregularities bigger than 3 mm (if adherent is not used) and water saturated for at least 6 hours before the application. Eliminate deteriorated concrete or laitance by means of chisel, mechanical means, water under high pressure, etc. until the desired adherence is achieved. (Sand blasting is not always sufficient to obtain a sound and rough surface). The depth of the repair has to be at least 1 cm after the residuals have been eliminated.
The framework oxides must be eliminated and replaced if necessary. Once cleaned, the frameworks are covered with a coat of PREREPAR S 100. If water leakages exist on the surface to treat, these must be eliminated by PRERESEAL 75 PLUG. The surface must be free from any grease residuals, oil stains, paint, mud or dust.
If the repair surface depth is bigger than 20 mm, it will be necessary to attach a rebar to the concrete to treat, leaving some space between the two and ensuring the fixing by means of separators. If the thickness is less than 20 mm, a rebar is not necessary.
Mortar preparation: Mix the mortar, by hand or by mechanical stirring, with water at a rate of 4.5 liters per 25 kg sack for about 2-3 minutes. The substrate must be water saturated, clean and free from friable material.
Curing: Non-shrinkage mortars with these characteristics should always be cured with water or with appropriate curing liquid to avoid the hydration water evaporation. Notwithstanding, even without this curing protection, in normal conditions of application, PREREPAR S forms no fissures unlike other mortars which have not been protected adequately in the first 24-48 hours.
If initial very high resistance is necessary to achieve at a very early age, the following instructions are recommended to follow:
- Store in a place protected from the cold.
- Use hot water for the mixing.
- Start the application in the morning.
- Once applied, the product must be covered with a plastic cover, to protect it from the cold.
Tools cleaning: Tools and application equipments are washed with water immediately after use. If the product hardens, it can only be removed by mechanical means.
