Application procedure
PRELASTIC 1000 is a paste like product ready to apply by a brush, a roller, a spray, or, in exceptional cases, with a trowel.
PRELASTIC 1000 is applied in succeeding layers on dry, clean and free from friable material supports, until the desired coating is obtained. A primer of PRELASTIC 1000 diluted in 20-30% of water is recommended in order to enhance the adhesion of the support. The second coating or the following ones should not be applied before the first one is dry.
PRELASTIC 1000 should be applied using a glass fiber or a polyester fiber reinforcement in the areas which suppose movement, such as dilatation joints, cracks, etc.
If breastplates, walls or pillars exist, these should be previously treated with COPSABAND 100.
In the case of low-traffic areas waterproofing, a glass fiber or a polyester fiber reinforcement should be used, covering the coating with spread aggregates smaller than 0.6 mm and topping it with PRELASTIC 1000. These operations could be made simpler mixing the aggregate with the product and then spreading the mix with a metal trowel.
PRELASTIC 1000 should be protected from fast drying, especially when the application takes place in hot or very windy weather. Recently finished coatings should be protected from rain until totally dry.
Tools cleaning: The tools and utensils should be washed with water immediately after their use.
Recommended for
- Waterproofing of roofs and terraces.
- Waterproofing reconstruction work on tiles, fibre cement, metal sheets, etc.
- Coating of facades.
Special precautions
PRELASTIC 1000 should not be used in areas where it will be in permanent contact with water, such as pools, water storages or water condensation areas.
PRELASTIC 1000 is based on acrylic copolymers and is free from solvents. Therefore, it does not require any special precautions. It should be handled, though, with gloves and goggles are recommended.
Empty packaging must be eliminated according to the local environmental regulations.
