Untitled Document

Description

PREPOXY AL is a two-component coating based on epoxy resin, slightly thixotropic. It exhibits high abrasion resistance and high chemical resistance.

PREPOXY AL is suitable for use in contact with drinkable water as it meets the following necessary requirements:

  • Specific migration within the limits defined in R.D. 118/2003 dating 31 of January 2003.
  • Manufactured from raw material included in the list of allowed substances in the manufacturing of plastic materials and object to be used in contact with drinkable water (R.D. 118/2003 dating 31 of January 2003).

Features

  • Good mechanical resistance.
  • Excellent adherence.
  • Excellent chemical resistance.
  • Approved for contact with food products.

Application procedure

Preparation of surface: The support to paint should be clean and dry to facilitate the adherence of the product. Eliminate any superficial dirt.

Product application: PREPOXY AL is a two-component product. Each component is packaged separately. The components are mixed in the proportion shown on the label some time prior to the application.

Due to the short pot-life of the mixture, it is necessary to prepare only the quantity which is to be used in a certain time period. Apply by a brush or a roller.

Recommended for

  • High chemical resistant coatings.
  • Painting of cisterns, barrels or food containers susceptible to contamination.
  • Wall coating.

Special precautions

If PREPOXY AL is applied in closed places, good ventilation should be assured during the painting and the drying.

For specific safety precautions and first aid, read carefully the product label.

Before hardening the mixture can cause skin irritation.

Use rubber gloves and goggles.

In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with water.

The empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environment regulations.

Consumption

PREPOXY AL consumption varies from 0.3 to 0.9 kg/m2 according to the nature of the support and its texture.

Thickness:

Vertical: a maximum of 200 microns per coating.

Horizontal: a maximum of 600-900 microns total.

Packaging

PREPOXY AL is supplied in sets of 5 kg, in roof-tile , white and grey colors.

Storage

The components should be stored in their original, unopened packaging, in dry places and protected from the direct rays of the sun at temperatures between 15 and 30 ºC.

Well kept, the product has a shelf life of at least 18 months.
