Coloured epoxy paint in water emulsion for concrete surfaces protection

Description

PREPOXY W is a two-component, solvent-free, coloured coating based on epoxy resin in water emulsion and resistant to the humidity of the substrate to coat. It is a superficial hardener in concrete pavements, waterproof and resistant to a number of aggressive agents.

Technical Data

• Type: Two-component epoxy water- base resin.
• Colour: Grey, red and green. For other colors consult our Technical Department.
• Density: 1.15-1.25 kg/dm³.
• Solids content: 56 ± 2%.
• Substrate temperature: 10-30 ºC.
• Initial curing time at 20 ºC: 6 hours.
• Final curing time at 20 ºC: 7 days.
• Bond strength: > 35 kg/cm² (concrete breaks).

Application procedure

Surface preparation: The substrate to apply the product must be resistant and totally clean, free from friable material.

Application: Mix the two components A and B until a total homogeneity is achieved.

The first coat is applied by a brush, roller or airless. Afterwards the product can be diluted in 10-15 % of water. A second coat is applied 8 to 12 hours after the first one, not later than 48 hours, depending on the temperature.

Tools cleaning: Tools and application equipments are washed with water, immediately after use.

Special precautions

PREPOXY W does not require any special application precautions. Rubber gloves and goggles are recommended.

The substrate cannot be covered with excess water. The maximum relative humidity must be 70%.

Its use is not recommended at temperatures lower than 10ºC, as the resin might crystallise. In this case, the normal fluidity can be restored by heating the cans at bain-marie, proceeding to the homogenization afterwards.

Low temperatures or time lapses higher than 48 hours between the two coats can produce covering problems between the coats.

Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

PREPOXY W yield depends on the surface texture and the required thickness. It is approximately 0.3-0.5 kg/m², dissolving the first coat in 10% of water.

Packaging

The product is supplied in 25 kg, in grey, red and green colours. Please, consult our Technical Department for other colours.

Storage

PREPOXY W has a shelf life of 12 provided it is kept in its original, unopened tin in dry, fresh places, at temperature between 5 and 30ºC.
