Water repellent impregnation based on siloxanes

Description

PRESIL is a mono-component organic solution based on siloxanes. It is waterproof, moisture proof and totally colourless, for facades and partition walls.

PRESIL penetrates the material pours depositing organic polymers there. The organic polymers provide the material with surfactant properties.

These modify the capillary system of the surface which rejects the water instead of absorbing it.

Application Procedure

Preparation of the surface: The surface should be totally sound, dry and free from friable material. If there are cracks or pours which cannot be covered with PRESIL due to their size, these have to be previously repaired.

Product application: PRESIL is applied by a brush, a roller or spray equipment. Soak abundantly the surface until fully saturated, without spreading the product too much. In general, one coating is enough.

The applied product should be protected from rain in the 48 hours after its application.

PRESIL application does not modify the colour of the surface and does not result in gloss. Inany case, a test on site is recommended to prove its effect.

Tools cleaning: Tools and application equipments are washed with white spirit, immediately after use.

Recommended for

• Waterproofing of facades, walls and masonry works of brick-laying, blocks, concrete, mortar, etc.
• Waterproofing in gypsum.
• Facade protector against temperature changes and frost-defrost cycles.
• Avoids the efflorescence of the substrate.
• Protects the surfaces avoiding the modification of their original appearance.
• The application of PRESIL does not prevent the humidity produced in the foundation or in the interior of the walls.

Special Precautions

PRESIL should be handled with gloves.

Because it is an organic dissolvent solution, the usual preventive measures in such cases should b etaken, i.e., do not smoke during the application, avoid contact with the skin, etc.

The working area should be well aired avoiding gas accumulation. Ensure good ventilation.

The safety instructions on the container label are recommended.

Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

An area of 1m² will need 200 to 300 g of the product, depending on the nature and the texture of the substrate.

Packaging

PRESIL is supplied in cans of 20 litres.

Storage

The product has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in a dry place and in its unopened original containers.
