Documento sin título

Description

PRELATEX is a synthetic liquid based on acrylic copolymers, which is stable in humid ambience and provides mortar and concrete with a higher adhesion, mechanical resistance and waterproof characteristics. It also enhances the mixing water retention. It is used for adhering mortar and fresh concrete in grouts. The addition of PRELATEX 100 enables the attainment of self adhering mortars which are inert and stable.

Technical Data

  • Type: Acrylic copolymer.
  • Aspect: Liquid.
  • Colour: White.
  • Density: 1.02 kg/dm3 ± 2%.
  • Solid content: 25% ± 2%.
  • Chloride content: Exempt.

Features

PRELATEX 100 enhances the following properties of hardened mortar:

  • Increases its mechanical resistance.
  • Improves its adherence.
  • Increases its resistance to chemical and natural agents (CO2, water, etc.).
  • Enhances its binding properties.
  • Improves its waterproofness.
  • Improves its durability.
  • Increases its resistance to cracking.

Application procedure

Substrate preparation: The substrate must be totally clean and free from friable material. For highly porous substrates, a priming dilution of one part of PRELATEX 100 and two parts of water is recommended.

Product placement: PRELATEX 100 is used as a substitute of part of the concrete mixing water in dosages of 20 to 100 % of that water.

  • Adherence laitance: Dissolve PRELATEX 100 in water in a ratio 1:1 and add that mixture to the cement to obtain a laitance consistency.
  • Mortar repair: The following type of dosage: 50 kg cement, 100 kg sand; 8 to 15 litres of PRELATEX 100 and water, to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Mortar protection: The following type of dosage: 50 kg cement, 100 kg sand, 10 to 20 litres of PRELATEX 100 and water, to achieve the desired consistency.

Recommended for

  • Flooring: Production of self-adhering mortars for repairs of high spots, flakes, joints, etc.
  • Adherents: Laitance for adhering old and new concrete and mortars. Priming.
  • Protection coating: Production of mortar with low CO2 diffusion coefficient, ideal for reinforcement protection.
  • The addition of PRELATEX 100 improves the mortar behaviour to dissolved chemical products. Enhanced ice resistance.

Special precautions

It is recommended to observe the usual precautions for work with chemical elements, such as use of rubber gloves and goggles.

Empty packaging must be disposed of according to the local legal environmental regulations.

Consumption

The approximate consumption is:

  • Laitance: 300 g /m2/mm.
  • Repair: 100-200 g/m2/ mm.
  • Protection: 150-300 g/m2/ mm.
